Meet Mr. Moreland

Mr. Moreland

 Braden Moreland, Assistant Principal

It is indeed an honor to serve as the assistant principal at Ringgold Elementary. My name is Braden Moreland and this will be my eleventh year in this position. However, I am not a stranger to Ringgold Elementary or the community. I have been in Ringgold for 55 years and even attended school at Ringgold Elementary.

After graduating from Ringgold High School in 1978, I spent one year at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College before transferring to Berry College, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science/Industrial Technology. I then went to the University of Georgia and received an add-on degree in Agriculture Education. I have received a Master's and Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

After graduating from college, I returned to Ringgold High School and taught Vocational Agriculture for 9 years. I then became a PGA golf professional for 8 years; afterwards, I returned to teaching. I spent 2 years teaching 4th and 5th grades at Spring Place Elementary in Murray County. I returned to Ringgold Elementary in 2002 and have taught both 4th and 5th grade.

My wife, Angie, also works for Heritage High School as a paraprofessional. We have one son, Hunter, who is a student at the University of Georgia. GO DAWGS! He is also a part of the UGA Redcoat Marching Band and the City of Chattanooga Pipe Band.

I believe students can be successful when the curriculum is meaningful. I further believe that students succeed when research-based teaching practices are used, and students are actively engaged in the learning process. Also, positive relationships must be developed between students, parents, teachers, and administrators so children will be encouraged to learn. I believe that parent involvement is the key to success for our students. We strongly encourage you to involve yourself in the education of your child.

I look forward to serving the children, parents, and staff at Ringgold Elementary.
